SMTP (Send) Settings

Server Port Number
eMail2Pop acts as a local mail server on your computer. For proper operation, eMail2Pop must use a TCP port on your computer to receive connections from your mail client. The default standard port number for the SMTP (Send) protocol is 25. If you already have another mail server on your computer and/or experience a port conflict or connection error, try changing the port number from 25 to another one, such as 2525. Remember that changing the port number in eMail2Pop may also require configuration of your mail client to use the non-standard port number.
Enable Server on Startup
Enabling this option will allow eMail2Pop to start handling SMTP requests when eMail2Pop is started up. Otherwise, the SMTP server will remain offline until you activate it by clicking its status indicator. (Default - Checked)
Reset SMTP Queue
Occasionally eMail2Pop may encounter an error while trying to send your e-mail. Most of these errors can be reset by restarting eMail2Pop, but sometimes eMail2Pop goes in an endless loop causing all mail to have a send failure. Click Reset SMTP Queue to try and reset all e-mail waiting to be sent. Your unsent e-mail will be lost. If this button fails to clear the send jam, shutdown eMail2Pop completely and delete the Queue folder in your eMail2Pop installation directory.
Request Return Receipt from all AOL Recipients
The AOL mail system provides AOL members the ability to receive a notification when an intended AOL recipient reads a sent piece of e-mail. When the message is read, AOL will send the sender an e-mail saying the time of reading. Checking this option will tell eMail2Pop to notify AOL to obtain a return receipt on all e-mail with AOL recipients. If you would only like to use return receipts on designated e-mails, leave this option unchecked and set your return receipt mail to high importance.
