eMail2Pop Service Firewall
For added protection, eMail2Pop includes a firewall capibility for protecting its POP3 and SMTP service from unauthorized access. This firewall will only accept or reject users based upon the four simple rules outlined below. This feature is not intended to replace a dedicated firewall, which protects all ports on the computer. This firewall will not affect any other programs.
- Allow Only This Computer
eMail2Pop will block all requests to eMail2Pop's services from other computers on the network and restrict access only to locally initiated requests on the computer on which it is running.
- Allow Computers on the Local Subnet
If you have a private local network and would like to sharre eMail2Pop's services with other computers on your local network, you may want to allow all computers on your local subnet. All computers not on the subnet will be blocked.
- Do Not Deny Access (Open Port)
If you do not want to place any restrictions on eMail2Pop access, then select this option.
- Grant Access to Specific Screennames Only
Checking this option will allow you to designate screen names to access eMail2Pop. Enter the screennames (without spaces inbetween) and separate the screennames with a comma. This rule will also work in conjunction one of the three above rules.
